Description
The Basic Nursing Skills Training is a comprehensive two-day 10am to 5 pm course delivered via Zoom. It is designed to provide participants with the essential skills and knowledge required to become successful care assistants or support workers in the healthcare industry. This course is ideal for those who are new to the industry or have taken a break from work and would like to refresh their skills.
The training will be delivered live online using Zoom Meetings, and participants will need to have a camera and microphone to participate fully. We highly recommend purchasing a blood pressure machine and thermometer to enhance the clinical skills experience.
The course covers a range of topics, including essential standards, the duty of care, communication, privacy, and dignity, as well as awareness of mental health, dementia, and learning disabilities.
On day two, participants will learn how to take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiratory rate, and glucose testing using a finger stick. They will also be trained in urine/stool collection and sampling, taking weight, height, and BMI calculation, infection control, and completing patient observation charts.
Upon completion of the course, participants will take an online assessment that will test their knowledge of the course content. Successful candidates will receive a certificate of completion.
The course fee is £235.00, which covers two days of intensive training (up to 14 hours) and an online assessment (80 minutes). As this is an online course, it is open to candidates from various locations and countries.
